The leading messaging platform WhatsApp is working on a new update that will soon notify users about their missed calls.
The new change will come through an API that issues alerts on any calls users may have missed. At first, you can expect the change to roll out to iPhone users with business accounts.
And when things go as planned, we will soon see the new update coming to the rest of the users.
It was only recently that we noticed that the company released an update that paved the way for business account holders to rename all linked devices.
Now, the new alert feature for missed calls will work if business account holders have their “Do Not Disturb” feature enabled.
We get more information about this new update which is still in preparation, thanks to Wabetainfo. They claim the new feature will be extremely useful in helping so many people figure out why they actually missed calls at first.
But that’s only when they have Do Not Disturb support mode enabled on both Android and iOS.
Those who have their calls silenced with a Do Not Disturb mode could potentially be on the unsupported version for iOS. Perhaps another reason could have to do with the update not yet rolling out for their particular account type.
According to information obtained from Wabetainfo, users not receiving WhatsApp calls due to their Do Not Disturb alerts being disabled have nothing to worry about. Indeed, they will see a new label appear aligned with the history of their call. Hence, it will be a great reminder of missed calls that may have been silenced along the way.
Fortunately, none of these details or information specifications will be shared with the person calling you or with the company itself. Therefore, you will only find it in the app’s own database.
Also, another important point to note is related to how users need at least iPhone 15 for the feature to work as the update is designed for this series and above.
Most likely, the platform will provide support for the new update by the end of this week. Also, iPhone users should keep their eyes peeled as the update will be rolling out on the App Store soon.
