WhatsApp is working on a premium subscription plan for business accounts

WhatsApp is working on introducing a new subscription plan for business accounts called WhatsApp Premium. According to WABetaInfo, the premium plan is being developed on WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop.

Earlier, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp was working on a redesigned interface for the “linked device” section exclusively for business accounts and hinted at a new subscription plan. The instant messaging app also said it was testing the ability to set up a cover photo for a business profile.

Under WhatsApp Premium, the messaging app could link up to 10 devices to a WhatsApp business account. Professional devices could also be renamed. Business account users are already allowed to shorten links so customers can contact them easily. Business accounts would soon be allowed to create a custom link as part of the subscription plan.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra shared a screenshot of WhatsApp Premium on Twitter.

WhatsApp Premium’s release schedule and price remain unknown. WABetaInfo reported that the capability tested on the WhatsApp Business beta for Android, iOS and Desktop will not be available for standard accounts.
