How to hide your WhatsApp profile picture from specific contacts

(Pocket-lint) – WhatsApp offers a number of features, some of which are nice and easy to find, while others require you to delve a little deeper into the app.

The messaging app lets you, for example, hide your last seen, react to messages with emoji, and you can even change each contact’s wallpaper if you want. We’ve covered our favorite tips and tricks in our separate feature, but here we’re focusing on a tip we recently discovered and love.

Did you know that it is possible to hide your WhatsApp profile picture from individual contacts? Maybe you don’t want a certain person or people to see your photo, or maybe you want to make it look like you blocked someone to teach them a little lesson but don’t want to block it like then you won’t know if they message you.

Here’s how to hide your WhatsApp profile picture from individual contacts. This feature is available on iOS and Android devices.

  1. Open the WhatsApp app
  2. Tap the Settings tab in the lower right corner
  3. Press on Account
  4. Faucet Privacy
  5. Press on Profile Picture
  6. Press on My contacts except…
  7. Choose the contacts you don’t want to see your WhatsApp profile picture
  8. Press on Fact in the upper right corner

You’ll still be able to send and receive messages with the contacts you normally select, but they’ll see a big circle with a person icon instead of your WhatsApp image.
