Cuttack Christ College student dies: WhatsApp chat with friend brings new twist

Cuttack: The mystery surrounding the death of Tusharkant Sahu, a Christ College student here, has grown darker as WhatsApp chats between the deceased and his friend have surfaced.

While the texts indicated that the girl blamed Tusharkant for ruining her relationship with her boyfriend, she had also threatened him with dire consequences for his act.

Referring to the conversations, Tusharkant’s sister said: “The girl used to blackmail my brother and threatened to kill him. We have the screenshots of the posts as proof. She also spoke to him as a “girlfriend” by texting him “I love you” and received “I love you too” in response. “

“Tusharkant told us a week ago that he was in depression after being mentally tortured by the young girl,” said one of the deceased’s friends.

Tusharkant’s family members today filed a complaint with Cantonment police alleging that he was murdered by his friend, boyfriend and their associates.

Previously, Tusharkant’s relatives had filed a complaint with the Cantonment police after his disappearance on August 3. During the investigation, the cops found his two-wheeler parked near Madhusudan Setu here.

On August 5, his body was found in the Jobra roadblock in the city. A case of unnatural death has been registered at Jagatpur Police Station in this regard and further investigation is underway, a police official said.
